The Bombay High Court has commuted the death sentence of two sisters, Renuka Shinde and Seema Gavit, for kidnapping 13 children and killing 10 children. The court has made its basis for the delay in the death sentence. Let us tell you that these two women were the first such women of the country, who got the death penalty.

Both of them are accused of kidnapping innocent children and making them commit crimes, using them as weapons for their own safety and brutally killing them when the purpose was served. His mother Anjanibai Gavit was also an accused in this case. However, she died a year after being caught, while both the sisters were sentenced to death by the court in 2001.

125 criminal cases were registered
There were about 125 criminal cases registered against the mother and daughters. This included incidents like petty theft, pocketing, chain snatching, theft in crowded areas. But this was only a small part of the horrifying story of these women. In the 90s, he entered the world of murder by theft. Then the elder daughter Renuka was 17 years old and the younger daughter Seema was 15 years old when she along with her mother killed the first child.

In fact, Anjanibai was left by her husband and married to another woman. After this, Anjanibai entered the world of crime to earn money. In this she also included both daughters and eldest daughter Renuka’s husband Kiran. Renuka also had a son. One day he stole in the temple and when caught, he put all the blame on him by leading the son. People left the son and mother with mercy. This is where Renuka and her mother and sister got the idea to commit crimes with the help of children.

Husband had so much hatred for his second wife that his daughter was targeted
In six years, from June 1990 to October 1996, the three women kidnapped and killed a dozen children. Leaving Anjanibai, husband Mohan was married to a woman named Pratima. Mohan and Pratima had two daughters. Anjanibai hated Pratima so much that she targeted her elder daughter. Pratima was suspicious of Anjani and her daughters, so she lodged a complaint with the police against the three for kidnapping her daughter.

The motive of the three criminal women was also to kidnap the second daughter of this couple, but the police foiled their plans. After being caught, it was found in the investigation that children were abducted and pushed into the world of crime. When the children became old in the world of crime and people started recognizing them, these women used to kill them. Some of the murder stories are goosebumps.

The painful story of the murder of four children

  1. Santosh was just one and a half year old child. One evening he started crying at the bus stand. The women felt that people’s attention would be drawn to them due to the crying of the child, so they killed him. He slammed the child’s head on the ground and an iron rod until the child died in his lap. After this the body of the innocent was thrown under an autorickshaw.
  2. Similarly, an 18-month-old child was also brutally murdered. First he was strangled. After he died, it was stuffed in a purse and then the purse was left in the toilet shelf of the cinema hall.
  3. A 2-year-old child was first starved for several days and then hit so much that he died. This was done only because the innocent used to cry a lot remembering his mother.
  4. Pankaj, a three-year-old child, had dared to talk to the people around the house, so that he could get out of that hell. On knowing this, the women hung him upside down from the fan and banged his head in the wall till he died.

Mother dies in jail, daughters hanged
Before this, the police had reached these women making the 14th child their victim. In November 1996, the police arrested all three and put them in jail. All three had serious criminal cases registered against them. When Renuka’s husband became the main witness in this case, all the cases against her were dropped. In December 1997, Anjanibai died in jail simultaneously after her arrest. Whereas, both the murdered sisters were sentenced to death in 2001. In 2004, the Bombay High Court also upheld the same sentence. However, in 2006 the Supreme Court stayed the death penalty. Later the President also rejected the mercy petition of both the sisters.
