Various activities will be organized to make the drug-free campaign successful in the district, in which awareness campaigns will be conducted for the students of schools and colleges along with the parents. After identifying the victims of drug addiction, they will be taken to the drug de-addiction center and they will be given counseling and treatment. Inspections will be conducted from time to time to prohibit the sale of cigarettes and other intoxicants within a distance of 100 meters of educational institutions.
This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi while presiding over the meeting organized under Drug Free India Campaign at Bachat Bhawan on Monday. He said that it is the responsibility of all the departments to make the campaign effective. It is necessary to give the form of mass movement by all the departments to bring the youth out of the drug trap.
