According to the customs department, 4.9 kg of heroin drugs were carefully hidden in a black colored packet by making a special cavity in the suitcase.

Drugs worth Rs 25 crore have been recovered from a mother and daughter at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Both are residents of Johannesburg, South Africa and have come from their hometown to Mumbai via Doha in Qatar. The team of Customs Department of the airport has recovered these drugs from inside a suitcase.

Both of them had come on the pretext of visiting Mumbai and getting treatment here. According to the customs department, 4.9 kg of heroin drugs were carefully hidden in a black colored packet by making a special cavity in the suitcase. The customs department of the Mumbai airport arrested the two under the NDPS Act.

5 thousand dollars were received to bring the drugs to India
According to customs sources, these mother-daughters were lured by a drug mafia racket to smuggle drugs, where they were promised US$5,000 for a visit.

Custom Intelligence Wing started investigation
Sometime back both have been produced in NDPS court, from where the court has sent them to 14 days judicial custody. The Custom Intelligence Wing is now ascertaining to whom this consignment of drugs was to be delivered to India and since when is this drug game going on? Along with this, other people associated with this syndicate are also being traced.
