Earlier, Rajnath Singh, who was involved in a program of ‘Deemed’ University Defense Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), said that without advanced technology, it would not be possible for India to become a superpower. Rajnath said this while addressing a program at the Defense Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune. Its Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised institutions like DRDO and said that we are proud of them.

“If India makes progress in technology, it can become a superpower,” Rajnath said. Rajnath Singh further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to take the country on the path of progress in innovation and research. “Some initiatives have been taken by the Ministry of Defense to advance research and innovation through the collective efforts of the armed forces, industries and academia and this can only happen through mutual understanding and sharing of knowledge and best practices,” he said.

Rajnath Singh further informed that the government has allocated Rs 500 crore to promote research and innovation in ‘aerospace’ and defence, by supporting 300 startups. Referring to his recent visit to Nagpur, Rajnath Singh also cited the example of successful supply of one lakh grenades to the Indian Army by a private company in five months. He said the company has exported similar grenades to Indonesia at high prices. Each grenade costs Rs 3,400 in India and the company has exported similar grenades to Indonesia worth over Rs 7,000, he said. The Defense Minister said, “My point is that if we move forward in technology, India can become a superpower. The country can become an economic superpower.” Singh also appreciated the efforts of the institutes for obtaining nine patents in the area of ​​COVID research.
