A major accident was averted this afternoon in Kheersara village of Keshod taluka of Junagadh district in Gujarat. In fact, the water tank built in the village collapsed like a pack of cards. Fortunately, the loss of life was averted as there was no one around. However, an auto and a bike parked under the tank were damaged. The accident was captured in the CCTV installed in a nearby shop.

As soon as the tank exploded, water entered the adjacent tea-snacks shop and a lot of goods in the shop got damaged. According to the information received from the villagers, the tank was about 40 years old. Despite this, it was never maintained. Due to this the tank collapsed.

It was fortunate that shortly before the incident, some of the cattle herders who had camped under the tank had gone away with the animals. The administrative officials reached the spot as soon as the news of the tank breaking.
