Congress’s attack on inflation: State President sitting at the petrol pump to protest in the raining water, there was no big gathering; Demonstrations took place across the city in different groups

A group of party functionaries, including state president Mohan Markam, staged a sit-in at a petrol pump in Raipur.

Congress protested across the state today against the rising prices of petrol and diesel. Congress state president Mohan Markam sat on a dharna at the petrol pump near Shastri Chowk, despite the rain since morning. A dozen officials were present along with Rajya Sabha MP Chhaya Verma, MLA Kuldeep Juneja and Mayor Ejaz Dhebar.

According to the program fixed by the All India Congress Committee, there was no big gathering at any place in this demonstration. Congress functionaries and workers in different groups demonstrated at petrol pumps and squares. They demanded to reduce the prices by raising slogans against the central government and the BJP. Mahant Laxmi Narayan Das Ward Congress Committee demonstrated at a petrol pump in Tikrapara. During this, these people also raised the slogan of Modi Bhagao-Desh Bachao by standing in front of the advertisement cutout of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vaccination at the petrol pump.

Congress state president Mohan Markam said, “The BJP government has raised the prices of petrol and diesel to record levels by repeatedly increasing taxes in the last 7 years. Due to wrong policies and hefty taxes, petrol in Raipur is getting at the rate of Rs 95 and diesel at Rs 94 per liter. Petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 per liter mark in many parts of the country today and diesel prices are on the verge of touching Rs 100 per litre. Markam said, everyone knows that the effect of inflation of petrol and diesel affects all types of goods and makes them expensive, due to which today every person of the country is suffering from inflation.

Accused of looting the central government

Mohan Markam said, in the last 13 months of the corona epidemic, the BJP government has increased the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 25, 97 paise and Rs 24 by 18 paise. The price of petrol and diesel has been increased 44 times in 5 months of the year 2021. This is a living example of loot from the public by the BJP government at the Centre.
