The first patient of Omicron, a new variant of Corona, was found in Bihar on Thursday. He had gone to Delhi to meet his brother from England, who is infected and is under quarantine in Delhi. The infected 26-year-old youth is in home isolation at the house located in IAS Colony, Kidwaipuri. Its sample was sent to NCDC lab in Delhi for genome sequencing. The report of being Omicron positive came on Thursday, it was confirmed by Sanjay Kumar Singh, executive director of the State Health Committee. The young man was infected on December 21. Now contact tracing will start from morning. A separate surveillance team will also be formed for the Omicron patient from today i.e. from Friday itself.
Here, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Pratyay Amrit said, ‘The way the cases are increasing, it is no longer a point to say the possibility of a third wave of corona. We have prepared taking lessons from the second wave of Corona. People are appealed to avoid overcrowding. Put on a mask.’ He told that at present there are more patients of Delta and Delta Plus in Bihar.
More than 100 new patients in 1 day after 159 days, 60 in Patna
In Bihar, there has been a 71 percent increase in the number of new cases of corona in a day. 132 new infected patients have been found on Thursday. On Wednesday, 77 new infected patients were found in the state. Maximum 60 new patients have been found in Patna. The second place has been Gaya district, where 46 new patients have been found. The maximum number of corona patients are being found in these two districts. In Bihar, after 159 days, more than 100 new patients have been found in a day. There are now 333 active patients in the state. The maximum 158 active patients are in Patna. Has gone to the second place where there are 92 active patients. In other districts, the number of active patients ranges from 1 to 5.
With the arrival of 132 new cases, the recovery rate has also come down to 98.29%. Now the total number of infected in Bihar has increased to 7,26,738. While the number of people who have been cured is 7,14,308. At the same time, 12,096 people have died due to corona so far.
Control room active in all districts
Sanjay Kumar Singh, executive director of the State Health Committee, said, ‘Corona cases are increasing rapidly for the last 4-5 days. Patna and Gaya have the highest number of Kovid positive cases here. New cases are increasing every day at an average of 1.6 times. Therefore, the control room has been activated in all the districts. All Kovid Care Hospitals, Dedicated Kovid Healthcare Centers and Dedicated Kovid Hospitals have normal beds, oxygen beds and adequate ICU beds.
Regarding oxygen, OSD Health Kumar Ravi said, ‘125 PSA plants are to be set up. 121 have been taken. 120 plants are commissioned. During the peak in the second wave of Corona, there was a requirement of 377 MT per day of oxygen. At present, 458 MT of oxygen will be produced per day.
