The school health check-up program was reviewed in the state level steering committee meeting held in Gandhinagar. In this meeting, it has been decided to conduct health check-up of more than 1.5 crore children up to 18 years of students of all schools across the state. During this test, the seriously ill children will be treated free of cost. This was also discussed in detail.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that school going and out-of-school students up to the age of 18 years would be included under the school health check-up programme. In this, the decision has been taken by the state government to include students studying in ITI, college, degree-diploma. He said that if girl students have to be transplanted in serious diseases like kidney, heart, cancer, then they will also be given free treatment by the state government.
Last year, schools were closed due to corona infection, so the health check-up program was not organized, whereas under this program in the year 2019-20, health check-up of 1 crore 59 lakh 61 thousand 96 children was done. In which 28 lakh 55 thousand 447 children were screened on the spot itself.
