It was decided in the cabinet meeting that 4000 posts of different categories of teachers including 820 posts of drawing teachers and 870 posts of physical education teachers would be filled in the education department. To ensure quality education to the students near to their homes, out of these 4000 posts, 2640 posts will be filled in Elementary Education Department and 1360 posts in Higher Education Department on contract basis. It was decided in the meeting that various posts of teachers would be filled up expeditiously on batch basis.
Water supply scheme will be improved in Shimla
The Cabinet approved the draft Negotiation Package by the Department of Urban Development with the World Bank and Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India to improve the water supply scheme services in the Greater Shimla area. $250 million (Rs 1813 crore) to be financed through the World Bank to finance the Shimla Water Supply and Sewerage Service Distribution Program. Out of the total $250 million, the World Bank will provide financial assistance of $160 million (Rs 1160.32 crore) and the remaining amount of $90 million (Rs 652.68 crore) will be borne by the Himachal government. In the meeting, the Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department was authorized to finalize and sign the MoU package with the World Bank.
24 hours water will be available in Shimla by 2050
The main objectives of the Shimla Water Supply and Sewerage Project are to meet the water demand by the year 2050. For this, augmentation of Shimla water supply with additional 67 MLD from Sutlej river, 24 hours a week water supply for all domestic and commercial consumers in Shimla Municipal Corporation area by 2050 for Special Area Development Authority Kufri, Shoghi, Ghanahatti and additional planning area. and to provide better sewerage services in Shimla Municipal Corporation area. In this project a plan has been made to lift water from Sutlej river near Shakrodi village of Sunni tehsil of Shimla district. b This includes augmentation of 67 MLD of water at Sanjauli by raising it to a height of 1.6 km and laying a pipe of 22 km. Under this project, there is also a provision to upgrade the distribution pipe network in Shimla Municipal Corporation to 24-hour water supply system throughout the week. In addition, sewerage system will be provided in Mehli, Pantha Ghati, Tutu and Mashobra areas of Shimla.
Apart from this, approval was given to open new Industrial Training Institute at Ladaghat in Sadar Tehsil of Bilaspur. Approval was given to open new development block office at Churag of Mandi. Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya will be opened in Bagsiad of Siraj Assembly Constituency.
Four posts of Stenographers will be filled through direct recruitment on contract basis for ADR Centers of Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Reckong Peo and Nahan. The Cabinet also gave its approval for upgradation of Primary Health Center Baldhar to 30 bedded Community Health Center in Karsog area of Mandi along with filling up of three posts of different categories.
Work will be assigned to HSCC Private India Limited
The cabinet decided to entrust the work of blood bank, mortuary, bio-medical waste management space and additional building for canteen and cafeteria to HSCC Private India Limited under under-construction superspecialty block at Chamyana, IGMC Shimla, for which Department of Health and Family Welfare. and the MoU will be signed between the implementing agency.
