The accused, who cheated Rs 15,000 in Varachha, has been arrested by the Crime Branch after 3 years on the basis of information. According to Crime Branch sources, Manjibhai Purushottam Patel, a resident of Lungiwala’s Chawl near Baroda Prestige in Varachha, used to work on renting TVs, VCRs and cassettes.
Bholabhai alias Bhavesh Giri Nathbhai Patel (resident district Bhavnagar), accused of theft in a shop in Varachha, used to work at his shop. Three years ago, Bholabhai ran away with a TV and three cassettes, which cost Rs 15,000. At that time a case of theft was registered against the accused in Varachha police station. Since then the police was looking for him. After the incident, the accused left Surat city and fled to his hometown.
The accused was living in the guise of a monk by changing the name
The accused was residing in his home town by changing his name. He changed his name from Bholabhai to Bhaveshgiri and started living the life of a monk. He lived in temples and monasteries. He used to go home once a year. Police reached his hometown to nab him after getting certain information about his coming to his house. When the accused reached home on time, he was arrested by the police.
