Preparation not even mentioned in the meetings till February
In a meeting held at the Chief Minister level on 24 November, officials had said that the supply of oxygen from the Medical College, District Hospital to CHC in Rajasthan has been strengthened. 26% of the oxygen beds in the state, 44% of the ICU beds and 18% are patients on ventilators and the state has more capacity than required.

Bikaner, PBM Hospital has an oxygen plant but 150 liters. While it only needs 1500 cylinders per day, it is getting 1200 only. The 4 PBM Kovid Hospital has 500 beds. Not a single increase in a year.

Alwar: The district hospital had 50 beds till April 1. If the patient increased, now it has been increased to 314. A 190-bed Lord’s Hospital has been started under the district hospital. Purchasing the contractor machine is still in process. The district hospital has only 22 oxygen cylinders.

Bhilwara: An 80-bed cavid care center was started in April as conditions worsened. Also acquired private hospital Ambesh Hospital, which has 24 beds. The largest MG hospital in the district has a capacity of 200 beds, of which 30 were recently expanded. There is an oxygen plant of 100 cylinders capacity.

Jhalawar, Jhalawar, a district hospital, 250 beds in two quarantine centers including two CHCs were extended in April itself. Oxygen is dependent on the tender. 20 portable oxygen generators await.

Hanumangarh: After the second wave, 95 beds were increased. However, there are only 131. The oxygen plant was started, but closed due to a technical fault.

1300 doctors and 14,400 nursing posts vacant

Despite the possibility of a second wave, by March 31, only 13,200 of the total sanctioned posts of doctors were filled in 14,500. 1300 are still empty. Similarly, 14,400 posts of nursing workers are still vacant. Out of the 69,400 posts sanctioned as on 31 March, only 55,000 are nursing workers.

And vaccination is also now behind target

2086 vaccination sessions were held in the state on April 27 in 2086. The target of vaccination was 1,19,807 people but it was 98,816. So far, a total of 1,04,88,313 and first doses 21,65,678 have been dosed. 1,38,57,360 vaccines were received from the center and 1,26,53,991 were installed.
