Lucknow University has prepared a 4-year graduation curriculum under the New Educational Policy. Students can score a total of 192 credits in this course. After completing the curriculum, the student will be awarded a bachelor’s degree with research. The special thing is that at the end of every year, students will also have the option of quitting the course and leaving the course.

For the past one week, LU is busy preparing the four-year undergraduate course. After the preparation of the curriculum on Wednesday, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai approved this. According to the spokesperson Dr. Durgesh Srivastava, students will be given intra-department and inter-department options in subjects under the instructions of the National Education Policy. In addition, co-curricular courses and vocational courses will also be available to them.

Each subject will have its own separate weightage

Includes Co-curricular and Vocational Courses – Over four years the student will study Major One Major-to-Minor, Co-Curricular Courses and Vocational Courses. There will be a total of 20 papers in Major One. 4 credits will be given in all the papers. There will be a total of 12 papers in Major II and four papers in Minor. In the first semester, students will study two Major One papers, two Major 2 papers, one minor paper and one curricular course with a total of 24 credits.

This is the main part of the curriculum

  • The second semester will consist of two Major One papers, two Major 2 papers, one minor paper and one vocational course with a total of 24 credits. After completing the first year, students can leave their studies with a certificate degree and pursue any other degree. You can get a certificate in a new course.
  • Semester 3 and 4 will also consist of two papers each of Major I and Major II, one minor paper, one co-curricular course and one vocational course. After completing the second year, the student will be given a diploma degree.
  • In the third year, the student will have to do three papers in the fifth semester of Major One, two papers of Major II and one internship or term paper, and submit a minor project.

Research Based Curriculum

After the third year, the student will be able to pursue a bachelor’s degree. The fourth year is the specialty of this new course. In this year in the seventh semester, the student will be exposed to the principles of research through the paper of Research Methodology. Apart from Research Methodology, the student will have five more papers which will be related to the research of his/her subject. In the eighth semester, the student will undertake a major project which will be of 24 credits in total. After completing these two semesters, the student will be able to obtain a Bachelor’s degree with research after the fourth year.
