The depot operators of Rampur/Nankhari sat on a dharna outside the SDM office Rampur on Monday regarding their pending demands. Through a dharna, the union has raised a demand from the government to increase the commission in the APL card or pay a salary of five thousand rupees per month. The symbolic strike of Rampur/Nankhari Depot Operator Association was held under the chairmanship of Principal Depot Operator Association Om Prakash Kapoor.
From 10 am to 3 pm on Monday, the operators sat on a peaceful dharna outside the SDM office. The union has strongly demanded from the state government to increase the commission on the APL card. Along with this, the state government urged to make a permanent policy for the depot operators, increase the commission on APL card like NFSA card. At the same time, the union has raised a demand from the government to pay at least Rs 5000 per month by making provision for monthly salary. The union warned the government that if the government does not take any concrete steps regarding the demands, then this movement will go further.
At the same time, the Depot Operator’s Association, through Tehsildar Rampur, submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur regarding this problem and sought a solution at the earliest. Many other depot operators including Jai Singh, Rajendra Bhandari, Karm Chand, Gyan Prakash, Harish Mehta, Sandeep Sharma, Kailash Kayath, Narsingh Dev and Brij Mohan were present on this occasion.
