NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede has been transferred to DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence).

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has asked the Mumbai Police Commissioner to appear in person before the commission’s chairman Vijay Sampla on January 31 in the harassment case involving former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau Sameer Wankhede. NCSC is probing Sameer Wankhede’s complaint that Nawab Malik told him of Muslim religion despite being a Dalit. This has caused mental harassment to him and his entire family.

In the summons issued to the Commissioner of Police, the NCSC Director said, “Chairman Vijay Sampla has scheduled a meeting with you personally at his chamber at Loknayak Bhawan, New Delhi on 31st January at 11 am. Therefore, you have to appear in person for the hearing along with all relevant documents including action taken report and related files, case diary.’

The NCSC has recommended the state government not to take any final decision in the matter till the time the inquiry is pending with the commission. NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede has been transferred to DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence). Sameer Wankhede was in this department before coming to the post of Zonal Director in Mumbai NCB. During his stay here, he had caught many celebrities.

That’s why Wankhede had complained in front of the commission
Sameer Wankhede had written to the commission alleging harassment following the revelations made by minister Nawab Malik. The minister had alleged that Wankhede was a Muslim and had secured a job in the IRS claiming to be from a Scheduled Caste. Malik had alleged that Wankhede’s father’s name was Dawood and not Gyandev. However, Wankhede has denied all the allegations.
