Woman smuggler arrested with 2 kg charas in Kullu.
Drug smuggling is not taking the name of stopping in Kullu. Every day one or the other case keeps coming up in the district. On Wednesday again 4 people were arrested. In one of these cases, a woman has been caught with 1 kg 989 grams of charas. In another case, when the police searched a vehicle, 46 grams of charas was recovered from it. After this, the police arrested three youths in the vehicle and started further action.
According to the police officer, the SIU team had received a tip-off that a woman smuggled charas in Sahara. The team has prepared a plan and arrested the woman with charas. Superintendent of Police Gurudev Sharma said that on Tuesday, the woman was coming on foot from Panga. Meanwhile, on investigation by the police team, 1 kg 989 grams of charas was recovered from the possession of the woman. A case is being registered against the woman and investigation is being done that from where the charas was brought and where it was being taken. The woman has been identified as 50-year-old Pingala Devi wife Durgaram resident of Riyada Malah Post Office Panga Tehsil Manali.
On the other hand, a car (HP16AA1040) was stopped for checking during the blockade at a place called Chet in Banjar sub-division. 446 grams of charas has been recovered from the car. After this, the police immediately arrested the 3 people aboard. Among them are Suraj Singh, 32, from Mohalla Govindgarh, Nahan in Sirmaur district, 25-year-old Karan Singh of Main Sarahan and 30-year-old Ramit Kumar of Karan Singh’s village. The police have also registered a case against these three under Section 20 of the NDPS Act and the process of presenting them in the court has been started.
