16 people who came to Raipur from abroad remain a headache for the district administration. The administration has not been able to get any information about them. Tracing of who these people are, where they live in the city has not been done. Actually, all this concern is due to the new variant Omicron of Kovid. By issuing guidelines, the Central and State Governments have asked to investigate and isolate all the citizens returning from abroad. But out of the people who came to Raipur in the last one week, there are 16 such who have not been traced yet. 10 people have given wrong numbers, 4 are such that they cannot be contacted on phone.

According to the information received from the Health Department, from November 27 to December 2, the number of people coming to Raipur from abroad is 243. This includes people coming from countries like America, London. Counters have been set up at Raipur airport. The state government is getting information about the people coming to Chhattisgarh every day from the center. Their information is being taken by stopping such people at the airport. As a precaution, they have been asked to stay on home quarantine. All have been tested for Covid. Till now the matter of infection among people coming from abroad has not come to the fore in Raipur.

Two NRIs got infected in Bilaspur
Two people who came from abroad have been found positive in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Among them are a man and a woman. Both have returned from USA. After this, the fear of the new strain Omicron has stirred up. The Health Department has kept him under observation after his RTPCR test came out to be corona positive. Also, samples have been sent to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing. The situation will be clear only after the report of which comes. At present, the department has started investigating the people who came in contact with them on the basis of travel history of both the people.

The Omicron variant i.e. B.1.1.529 was the first to appear in South Africa. Since then it has reached many countries around the world. Two cases of this have also been reported in India. So far, some specific information has not been revealed about the symptoms of infection. It is likely to take a few weeks for scientists to find answers to these questions. However, wherever this variant of the corona virus has reached, some of its symptoms and features can be determined by looking at the patients exposed there.

Symptoms of Omicron Virus

  • Extreme fatigue has been observed in patients infected with the Omicron variant.
  • No serious drop in the oxygen level of the patients has been observed.
  • Patients have complained of muscle pain, sore throat and dry cough.
  • According to doctors, the problem of high fever has been reported in some patients only.
  • Most of the patients infected with Omicron have not needed to be admitted.
