Omicron risk 4-5 times higher than Delta after recovery

According to WHO, people who have had corona before are 4-5 times more at risk of getting omicron than delta. The reason for this is that the patients’ immune system recognizes the delta variant more quickly than Omicron. There are some mutations in Omicron, due to which the immune system does not catch it easily.

Hans Henri P Kluge, Regional Director of WHO Europe, says that Omicron can infect any human. These include children, old, young, recovered from corona, vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

This variant is spreading rapidly. Getting vaccinated, adequate testing, contact tracing, making all arrangements in hospitals and supporting healthcare workers is very important to avoid becoming seriously ill. According to Kluge, 1 in 5 healthcare workers today suffer from depression and anxiety. These problems related to mental health are the result of corona epidemic.
