  • 8 states of the country started preparations to avert corona infection on a war footing

Many states of the country have started making concrete arrangements to stop the expected third wave. In terms of population, in the largest state Uttar Pradesh, priority is being given to applying vaccines to the children of children up to 12 years so that infection does not spread among children. 100 beds are being increased in all district hospitals. In the last 20 days, 2788 medical staff are being recruited on vacant posts. Here, a mass vaccination campaign has been started for people in the age group of 18 to 45 years in Gujarat. Under this, 1 lakh vaccines will be applied every day. Also, the vaccine will be increased in the age group above 45 years.

At least 50-50 PICUs and NICUs are being increased in all 28 district hospitals in Chhattisgarh. In Raipur’s largest government hospital and 5 hospital care centers, 1 thousand beds are being increased for children and pregnant women with oxygen need patients. The Himachal government has also ordered the community health center of Dharampur to be converted into a 100-bed hospital on Monday and to make direct recruitment to vacant posts immediately.

Bihar: 35 thousand beds will be increased, data of children is being prepared

All the hospitals in the state have been asked to provide the requirements. 372 ventilator beds are being increased in five major hospitals. 30-35 thousand beds will be increased. The plan to open a 100-500 bed temporary hospital in all the districts is underway. The number of beds in private hospitals will also increase. Data of children including oxygen, medicines are being prepared so that preparations can be made accordingly.

Maharashtra: Special center for children in every district, self-sufficient in oxygen

Special covid care wards are being prepared in all districts for children in Maharashtra. For this, a task force of pediatricians has been constituted under the chairmanship of Dr. Suhas Prabhu. The state is busy making itself self-sufficient in terms of oxygen by increasing its medical oxygen production capacity to 3 thousand metric tons daily. Meanwhile, BMC plans to create a crèche network for children suffering from corona.

Punjab: Nimon care units are being built in every district with training

Sick Nimon Care Units (SNCUs) are being set up in all districts of Punjab. Doctors are also being given the necessary training to deal with the third wave. Information will also be shared about the symptoms and treatment of the patients in the states where the third wave will come first, so that the loss of life is minimized. Stock of essential medicines including beds and oxygen is already being prepared in hospitals.

Jharkhand: 20 beds ICU in every district, more focus on training
Isolation wards, NICU, SNCU and Pediatric units are being constructed for children here. 20-bed ICUs are being built in all district hospitals. Emphasis is being laid on training. Due to shortage of pediatric doctors, general MBBS doctors are being trained at two centers in the state. With the purchase of medicines and ventilators, PSA plants are being set up at 27 places.
