The IAS Service Meet has been postponed in view of the threat of Omicron, a new variant of Corona in Madhya Pradesh. This meet was proposed in Bhopal from 17 to 19 December. It was to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Association President and Additional Chief Secretary IPC Kesari said that keeping in mind the possibility of spreading of a new variant of Corona, the decision has been taken to postpone the meet. Kesari had advised to postpone the event.

The Chief Minister has said that the new variant of Corona, Omicron, will be faced on the public participation model. We are standing on the verge of crisis. Talking to a private channel in Delhi on Friday, he said that together we will face the possible crisis. Let us inform that in the last one month, the Health Department is searching for about 100 people who have returned to Indore from foreign travel. The good thing is that 50 people who came from abroad have been screened. They have not been found infected with the corona virus.

The Madhya Pradesh government has made a three-T strategy to deal with the threat of the third wave of corona due to the new variant. Three-T’s means testing, tracking and treatment. For this, the Health Department has issued an alert. In this, instructions have been given to compulsorily conduct genome sequencing of all patients who come positive in RT-PCR.

This instruction has been sent to all the Collectors, Deans of Medical Colleges, CMHO and Civil Surgeons of the state. They have been asked to compulsorily send the patient’s samples for genome sequencing after a positive report in the RT-PCR test of Kovid. The ministry issued this order on 30 November itself.

The three-T strategy has been advised by the Union Health Ministry. According to this, first identify the variant of the corona virus through genome sequencing, then follow the necessary surveillance activities while doing immediate tracing. The Chief Minister has said that all other emergency arrangements including oxygen plants, ventilators have been made in the state. It will be our endeavor that all these are not needed at all. An environment is being prepared for strict adherence to masks, physical distance and other precautions.
