Four accused were arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police with heroin worth 2.5 thousand crores.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police took major action on Saturday. Three people have been arrested from Haryana and one from Delhi. 350 kg heroin was seized from these accused. Its value in the international market has been estimated at Rs 2500 crore.

Last month, Delhi’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted an international drug smuggling syndicate. Eight people have been arrested in this case. In this action, 22 lakh psychotropic tablets and about 245 kg of similar drugs were seized, which were allegedly being carried on the darknet. During this investigation, the police got secret information related to some other people. The team of Special Cell immediately caught one, but his 3 accomplices ran away. While chasing them, the police arrested them from the area of ​​Haryana adjacent to Delhi. From all these, the police have seized 350 kg heroin worth about Rs 2500 crore.

The special cell suspects that the case may be related to narco terrorism. Apart from this, those who have been arrested in this case are being interrogated. It is believed that many more arrests are possible in this case.

This is the third major recovery so far

On the other hand, the seizure of heroin on Saturday is considered to be the second major recovery in the country so far. Earlier, Jagdish Bhola drug racket of 6 thousand crores was in a lot of discussion. The main link in this case was Arjuna Awardee, Rustom-e Hind awardee wrestler Jagdish Bhola, who was DSP in Punjab Police. He was sentenced to 12 years. Apart from this, 24 people have been convicted and sentenced under various sections including NDPS, while 25 accused have been acquitted.

After this, on the night of 30 January 2020, a consignment of 197 kg heroin was seized from the Kothi of Akali leader Anwar Masih in Amritsar. In such a situation, the third major seizure so far is being considered in the case caught today.
