Akali Dal leader Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra has said that the truck unions will be revived when his government comes to power in Punjab next year as the current Congress government disbanded them and hurt transport. He said, in order to give benefit to their loved ones, the Captain Government of Congress formed a syndicate in which traders and truck operators have suffered a lot.

On Wednesday, in the Shiromani Akali Dal office in Sector 28, Chandumajra also talked about the issues of Punjab’s transport to farmers. Let us tell you that Shiromani Akali Dal has made a transport wing of its own. The newly appointed members of the Transport Wing were present during this period.

He said that when our government comes, we will form a three-member committee consisting of SDM, truck union member and a businessman so that if there is any dispute regarding rate or any other matter, they will settle it. Along with this, the truck union will be headed by a truck operator and not a gangster.

Apart from this, there will also be a provision to issue a sticker in which when the truckers pay the tax, then no one will be able to stop them anywhere. We will also take strict action against overloading so that the road remains intact and the public does not face any problem. He said – when the truckers will be paid through tender, then they will get 100% payment. Those who keep the truckers’ money with them, they will not be able to keep it either.

Symbolic demonstration against increased oil prices on July 12

Chandumajra said that the transport wing of Shiromani Akali Dal will hold a symbolic demonstration in Patiala in view of the rising prices of petrol and diesel. This will include five trucks, five autos, five rickshaws, five buses from each union. A demand letter will be handed over to the Chief Minister at Moti Mahal Patiala that VAT will have to be halved to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in the state. Despite this, if nothing happens, we will have a big demonstration in August.
