- Naidu said – India is famous for its linguistic and cultural heritage
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said technical institutions should come forward to provide courses in local languages. Such initiative will prove to be a boon for the students. The Vice President appreciated the recognition of B.Tech courses in 11 local languages by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in line with the new education policy.

I am glad that we have taken several effective steps to preserve and promote our languages. The Vice President said that as per the new education policy, education should be encouraged to be imparted in the mother tongue as far as possible, at least up to Class V and preferably up to Class VIII and beyond.
Institutes came forward to conduct courses in local languages
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said that online education cannot be a substitute for the traditional method of education imparted in the classroom. In such a situation, we need to develop a mixed model of education for the future, incorporating the best elements of online and offline education. Vice President Naidu was addressing the inaugural session of the University Summit organized by the OP Jindal University through digital medium. The Vice President said that education does not just mean giving lectures but developing the independent thinking and creativity of the students.
He said that online education cannot be a substitute for the traditional method of education imparted in the classroom. We must provide individual education to each child using artificial intelligence and big data. He said that with the rich history of Vedas and Upanishads, we should once again try to become the knowledge capital or Vishwaguru of the world.
Congratulations to 14 engineering colleges
Naidu said, I congratulate the 14 engineering colleges located in 8 states of the country, which have decided to make some selected courses available in regional languages from the new academic session. He said, I am also satisfied that as per the new education policy, AICTE has recognized BTech courses in 11 local mother tongues like Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Bangla, Assamese, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi. This is the right step taken in the right direction.
