At Kannada Chalisgaon Ghat in Aurangabad district, complaints were being received for several days by traffic police personnel about extortion of huge amounts from trucks coming from outside. This information also reached the local BJP MLA Mangesh Chavan. To confirm this and expose this whole game of recovery, the MLA did what everyone is surprised to hear. He became a driver, took a truck and reached the checkpost of Chalisgaon Ghat and then exposed them by conducting a sting operation of traffic policemen asking for bribe.
BJP MLA Mangesh Chavan said that he was getting information that 2000 to 500 rupees were being collected from all the trucks going towards Chalisgaon Ghat via Aurangabad. After this we have done this sting to nab the accused. This proves how the game of recovery is openly going on in this government. Every day there is a long jam here for their recovery. Sometimes ambulances are stuck in this jam. We have our eyes on these people playing with people and will continue to expose them in the coming times.
Such an MLA busted the game of recovery
In the video of the sting that has surfaced, MLA Mangesh Chavan first talks to some drivers. These drivers tell them how 500 to 2000 rupees are demanded for each truck to go ahead. After this he masquerades as a driver along with some of his comrades in a truck and reaches the post.
There the trucks stop at the behest of a traffic constable and he demands Rs 500 from the MLA. Mangesh asks him to take 300 instead of 500 and after sometime both of them argue. After this another constable reaches there and he abuses the MLA. Due to this, the MLA gets angry and makes it run from the truck and the whole game gets busted.
investigation started in the case
As soon as the information about this matter was received, a team of Aurangabad Police reached the spot and started investigation. At present, all the accused traffic constables have been removed from there on duty and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against them.
