Chandigarh’s new Director General of Police Parveer Ranjan.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has replaced the Director General of Police (DGP) of Chandigarh on Wednesday. Now Parveer Ranjan, a 1993 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Arunachal Pradesh Goa Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, will be the new DGP of the city.

Parveer Ranjan, who got the responsibility of DGP in Chandigarh, was currently posted as Special Commissioner of Delhi Police. He was also the chief of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the Delhi riots.

Let us inform that the then DGP Sanjay Bainiwal has been called back to Delhi after the completion of his three-year term. DGP Sanjay Bainiwal was posted as DGP in Chandigarh since June 2018. However, there is no information about his new posting yet. It is being said that the Ministry of Home Affairs will issue a separate order regarding this.
