Government accords “Maharatna” status to PFC
Government of India Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) with the coveted ‘Maharatna’ status, thus providing greater operational and financial autonomy to PFC. An order to this effect was issued by the Department of Public Enterprises under the Ministry of Finance.
Established in 1986, PFC is today the largest Infrastructure Finance Company exclusively dedicated to the Power Sector under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power. Granting ‘Maharatna’ status to PFC will give more powers to the PFC board while making financial decisions. The Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh congratulated PFC.

Reliance Foundation celebrates International Girl Child Day
An initiative of Reliance Foundation, Har Circle Sansthan celebrated International Girl Child Day on 11 October. The day is dedicated to the 51 year old Kalbelia dancer who is Gulabo Sapera, a powerhouse of talent and inspiration. He was buried alive by the women of his community soon after birth and was rescued five hours later by his mother and his aunt.
Today she is a world-renowned folk artist, teacher and women’s rights activist. He has won several awards including Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in the year 2016. Speaking on the occasion, Nita Mukesh Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation and Founder of Har Circle, said that it gives me great pleasure to see women marching ahead.
On International Girl Child Day, I wish that all the girls get their rightful place in the society. We should empower them so that they can make their dreams come true. I am glad that in a short span of six months, every circle has launched a digital movement of brotherhood and solidarity. Our programs are running across India.
