The Aam Aadmi Party has blamed the Khattar government of Haryana for the ongoing water shortage in Delhi for several days. Raghav Chadha, Vice-Chairman, Delhi Jal Board, told a press conference on Saturday that the Haryana government has stopped a large part of the water getting from Haryana to Delhi and due to this there has been a shortage of 100 MGD in Delhi’s water supply.

Haryana is releasing 221 cusecs i.e. around 120 MGD of water and due to this the production of three big water treatment plants in Delhi has come down by 100 MGD. Chadha said that in view of the scarcity of water in Delhi, the Delhi government is contemplating to approach the Supreme Court again against Haryana.

Chadha said that through Yamuna, Haryana CLC, DSB and Wazirabad pond gives water to Delhi through three means. At present, there has been a big shortfall in the supply of water from CLC, DSB. Due to this it has reached zero in Wazirabad.
