Excise department raided: Factory seal making liquor without license in Paonta Sahib, illegal business worth 100 crores was going on

The State Excise and Taxation Department has sealed a factory manufacturing liquor without license in Paonta Sahib. A substance used to make 13,802 liters of ENA liquor was found unlicensed in the factory. About 5155 boxes of country liquor can be made from this.

The department officials raided the factory after receiving a complaint about doing business of liquor without license and permit. The factory has been sealed till further orders. This action has been implemented under section 43 of the Excise Act 2011. A case has been made and sent under the Excise Act.

Illegal business worth Rs 100 crore
The liquor factory in Paonta Sahib, which has been sealed, was running illegal liquor business worth about Rs 100 crore. The license fee itself is Rs 79,79,940 which the liquor business did not pay. Rs 2,78,370 of additional license fee, Rs 61,00,860 of TSA fund, Rs 3,09,300 of COVID Cess, Rs 1,10,416 of import tax, Rs 1,07,018 of bottling, Rs 7,09,123 of excise duty and 3 of VAT, 45,063 was not paid.
