- Action of Ranchi Police in case of disturbances in Rajya Sabha elections-2016
Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act) have also been added in the FIR registered at Jagannathpur police station in the horse trading case in Rajya Sabha elections-2016. Ranchi Police has given written information to the court after adding the sections of the PC Act. Along with this, the investigating officer has also been changed in this case. Now Hatia ASP Vineet Kumar will investigate it. Earlier this responsibility was with Jagannathpur police station in-charge.
The then ADG Anurag Gupta and advisor to Chief Minister Raghuvar Das Ajay Kumar are accused in the FIR. On the orders of the Election Commission of India, Ranchi Police has taken this action with the permission of the state government after taking legal advice. Anurag Gupta was suspended in this case on 14 February 2020.
