The issue of private AC buses plying illegally from the city has gained momentum. Now the HRTC management has written a letter to SP Shimla, Mahit Chawla, to take action in this regard. It is written in it that some private AC buses are running from Tutikandi crossing parking lot under the nose of the administration. The situation is that contract carriage permits are issued by the Transport Department to private AC buses. Under the permit, only a group is made to sit in these buses.
The group in which passengers are accommodated according to the capacity of the buses, but these private buses are carrying passengers like a stage carriage permit. In which the bus can pick up passengers from any bus station or stop. This Gorkha business of private buses is running on online booking. In which booking is being done on online websites like Red Bus, Travel Yatri, Clean Trip.

ISBT Shimla is leaving Shimla minutes before the timing of HRTC buses going to Delhi, Chandigarh and outlying states. Whereas this is a blatant violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. The HRTC management has written a letter to Shimla SP Mohit Chawla regarding the illegally running private AC from Shimla and has sought action on it. At the same time, he has also sent a list of numbers of illegal private AC buses running in Shimla.
Illegal AC buses run at these times from Tutikandi crossing
In the complaint sent to SP Shimla, the corporation has sent the date of running of illegal private AC buses, bus routes, timings of buses along with the names of the buses. Buses leave from Tutikandi crossing at 8 pm. Similarly, a bus of UP number leaves between 8.30 pm and 9.10 pm. Similarly one AC bus of HR no. runs between 8.40 hrs to 9.15 hrs. Apart from this, private AC buses ply from Tutikandi crossing till 10.30 pm.
Private buses are running illegally from other outside states from Tutikandi parking. In this regard, a letter has been written to the SP Shimla demanding action.
