Kripashankar Singh was counted among the loyal leaders of the Congress. He has been very close to the Gandhi family (Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi).

Former Maharashtra Minister of State for Home and Congress leader Kripashankar Singh has finally got an entry in the BJP after a long wait of 22 months. Today (Wednesday) at 12 noon, Kripashankar Singh is going to formally join BJP in the presence of former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP State President Chandrakant Patil.

Confirming the joining of Kripashankar Singh, BJP office secretary Mukund Kulkarni said that along with him, former MLA of Niphad assembly constituency of Nashik district, Late. Raosaheb Kadam’s son Yatin Kadam is also about to enter BJP.

Left the party angry with Rahul Gandhi
Kripashankar Singh was counted among the loyal leaders of the Congress. He has been very close to the Gandhi family (Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi). This is the reason that when Kripashankar was the President of Mumbai Congress, the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi herself came to inaugurate the Mumbai Congress office. But the political equations in Mumbai started changing as soon as the Congress’s command came in the hands of Rahul Gandhi. When Rahul started increasing Sanjay Nirupam, a Hindi-speaking leader originally from Bihar, in place of Kripashankar Singh, things got worse.

By the way, Kripashankar was getting angry with the Congress party from the same time, then a former Union Minister of State of Congress started framing him in the case of disproportionate assets by conspiring against him and the Gandhi family remained silent knowing everything. In the midst of this internal displeasure, Kripashankar Singh expressed his desire to contest the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 from the North West Lok Sabha seat vacated by the death of former Union Minister of State Gurudas Kamad. But Rahul Gandhi then made Sanjay Nirupam the candidate from this seat instead of Kripashankar Singh. While Nirupam had been an MP from North Mumbai. That is why many big leaders of Mumbai Congress believed that Rahul Gandhi should make Nirupam the candidate from North Mumbai. In this way, Kripashankar Singh raised the issue of Article 370 in the meeting of the skinning committee of the Congress after not getting the candidature of the Lok Sabha and when the party did not give any clear opinion on it, he tendered his resignation.

What will be the political advantage for BJP?
A big leader who has a mass base among North Indians in the form of Kripashankar Singh has got the BJP ahead of other local body elections including Mumbai Municipal Corporation to be held in February 2022. Since during the unlock of few months in the midst of Corona epidemic, he has done huge public relations in cities including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar, Palghar by running the Dharmik – The Voice of Hard Workers campaign. Therefore, the North Indian voters, who were already inclined towards the BJP before Kripashankar Singh joined the BJP, will no longer go to the Congress. On the other hand, no big Congress leader including former cabinet minister Naseem Khan, former MP Sanjay Nirupam is taking interest in strengthening the organization due to the hand of a Marathi speaking person in the form of Bhai Jagtap, the president of Mumbai Congress. Therefore, now in Mumbai, Kripashankar Singh can make a huge burglary in the North Indian Voter Bank of Congress.
