Landslide in Raigad: All the people were vaccinated last month in Taliye village, which became the crematorium of 49 people, every moment 45 people buried under the decreasing debris are expected to survive

NDRF teams are continuously trying to rescue people trapped under the debris for 48 hours.

So far 49 people have died and more than 45 villagers are still missing in the landslide in Raigad’s Taliye village on Thursday evening. These include two innocent children aged 9 and 11 months. The bodies of their mother were recovered on Saturday. Today, even though this village has been exposed to the horrific tragedy of floods, but only last month, almost all the people here were vaccinated. The people of the village were happy that now they would deal with the Kovid epidemic, but this smile of theirs could not last long on their face.

CM Uddhav Thackeray along with his team reached here today to know the condition of the villagers.

Till yesterday, this village which was buzzing has now become a graveyard. The 42 houses here are completely buried under the rubble of the mountain. The hope of survival of the people buried under it is also decreasing with the passing time. The team of NDRF and local police is trying to get them out in the midst of heavy rains.

Local nurse Sunetra Pawase, who was involved in the vaccination of the villagers, said, “The entire village was vaccinated last month. We have done two deliveries in this village. One nine month old and one eleven month old baby are still missing. I have seen all the small children in the village. There was a little girl in this village who used to come to visit with me. Yesterday I saw him dead, lying on his stomach, it was very painful to see.”

For the last two days, the ministers have been visiting this village continuously.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has reached the landslide-hit Taliye village on Saturday afternoon. He is accompanied by Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar, State Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Raigad Guardian Minister Aditi Tatkare and Raigad District Collector Nidhi Choudhary. Earlier, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Transport Minister Anil Parab and Shiv Sena Secretary Milind Narvekar have also come here.
