Ashish Chauhan, who was the CEO of Mumbai Indians, was given this award at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.
Ashish Chauhan, the Chancellor of the Central University of Allahabad, known as the Oxford of the East and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), has been conferred with the Mumbai Ratna Award by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Ashish Chauhan, who was the CEO of Mumbai Indians, was given this award at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. After this award, the Vice Chancellor of Allahabad University, Prof. Sangeeta Srivastava has sent her congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the university family.
He is also the father of mobile stock trading
Ashish Kumar Chauhan is associated with Bombay Stock Exchange since 2009. Under his leadership the Bombay Stock Exchange became the fastest moving exchange in the world. He is also credited with improving the revenue earnings of the Bombay Stock Exchange and bringing mobile stock trading. Under his guidance, the work of expanding the scope in many new directions including currency commodities, equity derivatives and startups has also been done under his guidance.

Ashish Kumar Chauhan was also the CEO of the IPL team of Mumbai Indians. Along with this, he has also worked as the President and CIO of Reliance Group from 2000 to 2009. During this period the company achieved new heights in IT, E commerce, Public Relations, Media Telecom, Sports Organized Retail IPO, Petrochemical, Refining Oil and Gas etc.
Started career as a banker
He started his career as a banker in IDBI. He has been an expert in conferences organized by various organizations like UN, WFE, UNCTAD, OECD and Commonwealth. He has also been a member of the Policy Committee of the Ministry of Revenue, Ministry of MSME, CBDT, RBI and SEBI. He has also headed the South Asia Federation of Exchanges, which has over 20 exchange members.
Received many awards
Ashish Kumar Chauhan has also received many awards for taking up the country’s economy and for his contribution. Prominent among which are Digital Icon of the Year, Asian Banker, Top 50 CEOs in the World etc. He has also been associated with the Board of many reputed institutions as a member. These mainly include IIMs, AJNIFM, NITS, NIIT etc. His merit can be judged from the fact that many universities of the world have been calling him as a guest lecturer. He has also written many books. Among them ‘BSE A Temple of Wealth Creation’ is prominent.
