Narmad University: Students-teachers protest against privatization in Narmad University, gate closed, VC said – will consider the decision

When the gate of the university was closed by the guards present there, the students of NUSI started protesting there. Teachers are also opposing the decision.

The ongoing controversy regarding the inclusion of the grant colleges attached to the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University in the private universities does not seem to be ending. On Friday, a large number of students and professors again reached the university regarding this matter and started protesting. They are demanding that the decision taken by the university should be withdrawn immediately. At the same time, NSUI student organization raised slogans against Vice Chancellor Kishore Chavda. In view of the students’ protest, they were stopped at the university gate itself and the gate was closed.

After this the students sat on a dharna outside the gate and started protesting. In view of the seriousness of the matter and there should be no uproar, the police force was also called in the university. However, the students continued to create ruckus outside the gate for their insistence on meeting Vice-Chancellor Kishore Chavda. Seeing the insistence of the students, finally the Vice Chancellor had to come out. After this, the students went back with the applications. It is worth noting that a total of 11 grant colleges coming in the campus of private universities of the city will be included in these universities. The students are protesting about this. Here, private universities have decided to give admission in private colleges from this session.

Seeing the protest of the students, they were prevented from going inside the university.
When the students from NSUI came to protest, they were stopped outside the university gate. After this all the students sat there and started protesting. Students started protesting here by singing devotional songs. At the same time, slogans were also raised against the Vice-Chancellor and syndicate members. Students say that with the connivance of some syndicate members and vice-chancellor, the grant colleges have been incorporated with private universities.

The Vice Chancellor bowed to the insistence of the students, finally had to come out
The students had made it clear that they did not have to talk to any member other than the Vice-Chancellor. Unless they talk to the Vice Chancellor, they will not go back from here. After all, in front of the insistence of the students, one of the Vice Chancellor did not work. The police intervened and asked Vice Chancellor Kishore Chavda to come out. After this Kishore Chavda came outside the gate and went back inside with the copy of his demand.

Appeal of teachers – people of the society should come forward in the interest of children
Ketan Desai, a member of the Educational Association, along with all the professors of the Granted College, expressed his protest by sitting outside the university. However, the teachers involved in the protest were also stopped outside. After this, they also kept expressing their protest by sitting outside. Here, the teachers have demanded that their fight should not be weakened, so every section of the society should be involved in this so that the university has to withdraw the adopted decision. Otherwise the students will have to suffer because of this.

8 members of the syndicate came forward: letter written to the vice-chancellor – said – withdraw the decision
Syndicate members have also come forward in the matter of including the grant colleges in private universities. On Friday, a complaint was made in writing to the Vice-Chancellor and demanded the cancellation of the decision. A total of 8 syndicate members, including syndicate member Kiran Ghoghari, have written a letter saying that the decision taken by the university to merge the grant colleges into private universities is not correct. At the same time, Syndicate member Bhavesh Rabari has also written a letter saying that this decision should be withdrawn till the state government makes it clear in this matter.

This is the reason for protest
In fact, Narmad University has decided that a total of 11 grant colleges coming under the campus of private universities of the city will be included in the private universities. It has 6 colleges in Public Society, 2 in Vanitha Vishram and 3 in Uka Tarsadia. In this, colleges of B.Com, BA and B.Sc are being included in private universities. Because of this, more than 5 thousand students will have to study by paying 3 times more fees.
