After Gurugram and Faridabad, the Metropolitan Development Authority has been formed in Panchkula. Chief Minister Manohar Lal had announced the creation of Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority in the city a month ago on June 8. But where will the office of this authority be? Which officer will lead this authority? What will be the structure of the authority? It has no clue.
Announcing the formation of Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, it was claimed that the formation of the authority would speed up the development work. Panchkula will also be able to match the development of Chandigarh and Mohali. Instead of moving the file of any development work from one department to another, it was said to expedite the completion of any project due to the decision being taken at one place.
But now the authority which has not been constituted in a month. After its formation, it is natural to question the claim of accelerating the development work of the city. The truth is that in the last few months, many claims are being made for the development of the city, but these development works are still limited to paper.
Haryana Government has announced to make Panchkula self-reliant in the field of education as well as medicine. These announcements are still locked in the files. Four sites have been finalized for Medi City. The date of allotment of two sites out of these four has been changed twice.
The final date for allotment of these sites has not been decided yet. An education city plan has been prepared in Chandimandir area, in which space is to be allotted to the institute for higher education soon. So far only change of land use permission has not been given for this. It was announced to start adventure tourism in Morni.
Haryana government ministers including the Chief Minister also came to see the adventure sports trial. He claimed to start adventure sports activities in Morni in 15-20 days. In this also the stipulated time period has passed. People are waiting when finally adventure sports will be started.
For the overall development of Panchkula, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) will be constituted in a week. This will accelerate the development of the city. On the Chief Minister’s announcements towards making a film city in Panchkula, developing Morni as an adventure spot, opening two big hospitals with modern facilities, further strengthening the road network and making the district more financially strong. Haryana government is working without planning. Without planning, even a house does not work. The government has no vision. Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority was to be formed to expedite the development work of the city.
After the announcement of this authority, its whereabouts are not known. The Municipal Corporation had entrusted a trust to run the cowshed. Now a resolution has been passed to give him three lakh rupees every month.
