Khaneri Hospital Rampur, which provides health facilities to the people of four districts, is not prepared to deal with it if there is a major fire incident. In this 200 bedded hospital, only fire extinguishers have been installed in the name of fire fighting system. In such a situation, once again Khaneri Hospital has come under the scanner. On Thursday, ADC Shimla Kiran conducted a fire audit of Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medical Complex Khaneri at Khaneri Hospital, where he found many lapses.
In Rampur, the Additional Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with the hospital administration in this regard, while the Fire Department is talking to the hospital administration about this since the year 2017, but no positive action has been taken on it till date.
Keshav Singh Negi, in-charge of fire Rampur said that under the fire fighting system, a tank of water storage capacity of about 1.5 lakh liters is to be constructed near the hospital and after that three pumps are to be installed in it. He said that after this fire hydrants are to be installed in the hospital premises so that it can be used in case of fire.
Some things have happened in Khaneri Hospital and some are yet to happen. Instructions have been given to the hospital administration that the work of installation of fire fighting system should be completed in time, some suggestions have also been given for this.
