To get information under RTI from GMADA, Sector-70 resident Kanwal Nayan Sodhi who is also the President of Mohali Society for Fast Justice had applied for an information. If information was not given on this, he appealed to the Punjab State Information Commission as he was not informed about it even for two and a half years.
Hearing this, the commission has asked the Public Information Officer of GMADA to deposit a fine of Rs 10,000 on the next date. This fine imposed on GMADA will be given as compensation to the applicant. Sodhi said that on December 21, 2018, he had asked about the allotment related to different lands in Sector-70.
Which GMADA has given to the institutions. There are 20 such sites in Sector-70 alone which have been given to different organizations which are not fulfilling their responsibility of being an organization. The owner of the land has also been changed and commercial activities are being done here.
