Raj Kundra was arrested on 19 July. Since then they are behind bars.

In the pornography case, the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has filed a 1500-page supplementary chartsheet in Mumbai’s Esplanade Court on Wednesday. Apart from Raj Kundra, there are 10 other accused in this supplementary chargesheet, all of whom were arrested in February. A chargesheet was filed against all of them in April. However, during that time Raj Kundra’s name was not there in this chargesheet.

The chargesheet claimed that apart from the 11 accused arrested so far, the investigation has not found any involvement of others in the case. The matter came to light when the Crime Branch raided a bungalow on Mud Island. A pornographic film was being shot there. Later, 9 people who filmed the film and uploaded it on the portal were arrested.

An official said that since the two were arrested on July 19, the 60-day period for filing the chargesheet was ending this Sunday. Apart from the role of those arrested in the case, no new names have been added to the chargesheet.” After three more FIRs were registered in the case, the Mumbai Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. The FIR was registered by some of the victims associated with this case, who said that they were forced into the porn film racket.

Raj Kundra can file an application for bail
Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe were arrested in the same case on July 19. Since then they are behind bars. Therefore, his name could not figure in the charge sheet filed in April. After getting the chargesheet, now both can file their bail plea. His bail application has been rejected twice by the Sessions and High Court. Once again on September 16, hearing on Kundra’s bail application is to be held in the sessions court.

On September 8, the next date was sought from the court by Raj Kundra’s lawyers, after which the next date of hearing was fixed on September 16. An investigating team was formed by the Mumbai Crime Branch to investigate the pornography case. This team was headed by an ACP level officer.

Action taken on Raj on the basis of a clue
According to the chargesheet, a clue was found by the crime branch in February. Based on this, a bungalow in Mumbai was raided. Then some of the arrested people claimed that they were working for Raj Kundra. At that time there was no evidence other than this statement. The police did not think it right to arrest a celebrity businessman like Raj Kundra just on this ground. Raj’s name was not included in whatever action was taken at that time. Later evidence was found against Raj and he was arrested.
