Other countries also started closing consulates

Fearing the increasing occupation of Afghanistan, many other countries have started closing their consulates. The Turkish and Russian consulates in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province and the fourth largest city in Afghanistan, have been closed. His diplomats have left the city.

Iran said it had limited activities at its consulate. Munir Farhad, spokesman for the provincial governor of Balkh province, said on Tuesday that the consulates of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, India and Pakistan have reduced services.

Four embassies of India, one military training center

In the last 10 years, India has invested more than $2 billion in Afghanistan. Apart from the Embassy of India in Kabul, there are also four consulates. There is also a military office, which used to train soldiers and police forces. The consulates in Jalalabad and Herat are closed, while two commercial offices are functioning in Kandahar and Mazar Sharif. The two embassies together have a staff of 500 people.

Now the Embassy of Kabul is America’s big concern

America’s biggest concern now in Afghanistan is its embassy and other diplomatic missions. There are 1400 US citizens in the embassy. There is also a staff of 4000 people, which is like a small village. Although it has its own security personnel deployed. At the same time it comes in the Green Zone of Kabul.
