Officials have also been alerted by fake billing, so the ratio of rejection of new applications has also increased. Most of the applications for doing business from home address are being rejected. Those doing business of e-commerce are applying for GST number from home address.
According to the information received from the sources, the number of people taking new GST numbers in the border areas of the city is more, so the applications have increased. Very few applications are coming from already developed areas. Earlier 300 applications used to come daily which has now increased to 500. Surat GST Bar Association President Prashant Shah said that there is no guideline for not doing business from home. Despite this the applications are getting rejected.
