The crowd is such that it takes 2 to 3 hours to give the sample.
- Patients are having cold-cough, fever, mucus and difficulty in breathing
The problem of secondary bacterial and fungal infections is now being seen in people who got sick during the corona period. 400 blood tests are being done daily in the civil hospital, out of which 150 to 200 are getting these diseases. There is also a significant decrease of hemoglobin in these patients.
There should be 14 points of hemoglobin in men and 11 points in women, but due to the disease, 9 to 11 points in men and 7 to 9 points in women are being found. Doctors say that those who have had corona, their lungs have become very weak. Also, weakening immunity also increases the risk of secondary infection.
At present, about 2500 patients are reaching the OPD of Civil. Most of the patients are from Medicine OPD. Out of these, about 400 patients have problems of cold, cough, mucus, fever, shortness of breath, weakness etc. every day. Only such patients are getting blood tests done by doctors. Before the Corona era, more than 4500 thousand patients used to reach the Civil Hospital for treatment in July.
Of these, 400 to 450 patients were subjected to blood tests. There were more patients with less viral infections than bacterial and fungal infections. At that time patients used to reach the hospital with complaints of cold, fever, cough, malaria, dengue, diarrhea etc.
There is daily rush of patients in the blood collection OPD of Civil. It is taking 2 to 3 hours to give a sample to a patient. Since the blood test is written by the doctor, the work gets done in just 15 minutes till the sample collection, but due to the high crowd, all the counters are taking more time. Some patients told that they have come for treatment since morning. The case paper was found quickly, the doctor also saw it, medicine was also found, but had to wait for hours to give the blood sample.
It is taking three to four days for the blood test report to come.
For the last 10 days, the number of patients of this disease is increasing continuously. Till 10 days ago, OPD of pathology was from 100 to 150, but now gradually it has reached 400. Due to this it is taking 3 to 4 days to get the report. Earlier this report was available in the next day or 2 days due to less number of patients.
