The Chandigarh-Kharar flyover project is almost in its final stages. Under this project, the final works are being carried out by the construction company L&T to meet the shortcomings in the highway. Where on one side, under the flyover project from village Desumajra to Khanpur, only two-lane road was built on both sides in the past.
At the same time, due to the excessive acquisition of land on the side of the highway, a large part of the highway was left unpaved. To ensure that, the third lane estimate was also passed while making amendments under the project. Now when the work of building the third lane on both sides of the highway has also started, even then the side of the highway remained unpaved for about 3 meters, beyond which the drainage line has already been built on both sides of the highway. Now to make this rough part concrete, once again the work of installing paver block has been started in the project by making amendments.
According to the talk done with the officials of the construction company in this regard, in order to give complete beauty to the project, on the one hand, the work of planting saplings on this flyover was done at a cost of about one crore rupees.
At the same time, the work of installing paver blocks has been started to ensure that the sides of the highway. This paver block is to be set up in a stretch of about three and a quarter kilometers of highway, which is estimated to cost around Rs 2 crore.
Please tell that the traffic passing through here was facing a lot of problems due to the unpaved side of the highway. The flyover was dedicated to the public in December 2020 after the company built highway roads under this project. Traffic was opened for this highway in 3 phases.
After which the traffic was facing a lot of problems due to the rawness on both sides of the highway. Now the company is completing the work of building the third lane on both sides of the highway. At the same time, the work of installing paver blocks on both sides of the highway is also being completed.
Company officials say that within the coming 2 months, all the work of this project will be completed by the company and this project will be completely dedicated to the public. After the side of the highway is paved, the traffic passing through will get a big relief.
