A special rebate of 6% in surcharge will be given on depositing property tax for the current financial year 2021-22 in the capital by August 31. For this, the employees of the corporation will reach door-to-door to inform people and motivate them to deposit property tax. Similarly, verification of property tax and water tax accounts will also take place. In which action will be taken to enter the tap connections which are not recorded in the property tax account. Actually, due to corona infection, the state government has given exemption in surcharge on the outstanding amount of property tax and water consumer charges. Corporation commissioner KVS Chaudhary Kolsani has given instructions to the staff to give this information. He also reviewed the functioning of the Revenue Department on Wednesday. During this, instructions were given to motivate people for online payment, collect solid waste management charges on the basis of one kitchen one family and make more and more business licenses and deposit the license fee.

Understand the calculation of discount like this

  • Such cases of property tax in which the amount of tax and surcharge is 50 thousand rupees, they will get 100% exemption in surcharge only.
  • Rebate of up to 50 percent in surcharge will be given only on outstanding amount up to Rs 1 lakh.
  • In case of outstanding amount more than Rs 1 lakh, only 25 percent exemption in surcharge will be given.

There will also be discounts

  • In such cases of land rent / rent of the circumstances settled by the urban bodies, in which the total due amount including surcharge is outstanding up to Rs 20 thousand, only 100 percent exemption in surcharge will be given. 50 percent exemption will be given in surcharge only in case of outstanding between 20 to 50 thousand rupees and 25 percent exemption in surcharge only in case of outstanding more than 50 thousand rupees.
  • In cases of water consumer charges, 100 percent exemption is being given in surcharge on arrears up to 10 thousand rupees including surcharge, while 75 percent surcharge on outstanding amount including surcharge ranging from 10 to 50 thousand rupees and 50 thousand rupees including surcharge. Only 50 percent rebate in surcharge is being given on the amount of excess water tax.
