Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gyanchand Gupta again called a meeting on Friday after the Haryana Urban Development Authority, Panchkula Municipal Corporation and the Police Department did not take any effective action on the instructions given to remove the encroachment in the meeting held 17 days ago. In this meeting, it was decided to increase the fine to be charged from the occupants of government land and to confiscate the goods.
It was told in the meeting that 24 people are involved in the encroachment team and 72 challans have been issued in 20 days. On this, the Speaker said that in so many days a person has made an average of only three challans, which is very less. In this it was decided that if there is re-encroachment in any sector, then for this the JE of Municipal Corporation, HSVP and police post in-charge will be responsible in that area.
For this, action will be taken against them. Deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh will now lead the encroachment drive. HSVP will coordinate with the Municipal Corporation and Police Department to conduct the encroachment campaign. Panchkula Municipal Corporation Deputy Municipal Commissioner Aman Dhanda said in a press conference held at the MC office after this that the Municipal Corporation is going to start a campaign to remove encroachments on a large scale from Saturday. Action will be taken against street vendors and shopkeepers doing permanent or temporary encroachment.
Told that Panchkula DCP has assured that from Saturday a police team will be engaged with the Municipal Corporation to remove the encroachments. Along with this, in whichever sector the work of removing the encroachment is going on, the station in-charge of the same sector will also cooperate with the team of the corporation in removing the encroachment.
Aman Dhanda said that the Municipal Corporation has formed a team to remove the encroachment, in which the responsibility of JE of the concerned area was also imposed. He said that it would be the responsibility of the JE of the same area to install the encroachment. If there is encroachment, it will also be the responsibility of the JE. At the same time, the team of sanitization has now been linked with the enforcement team.
Decisions of the meeting held on 22nd June
- HSVP will remove illegal occupations done by the shopkeepers in the market. He was also entrusted with the task of removing the slum built in place.
- Panchkula Municipal Corporation was entrusted with the task of removing street vendors on government land.
- Police force will be provided during the encroachment removal campaign run by HSVP and the corporation.
- All the departments were directed to jointly run a campaign to remove illegal encroachments from government land on a large scale.
1000 will be fined from today
The deputy municipal commissioner said that earlier there was a fine of Rs 500. Now a fine ranging from 1000 to 5000 rupees will be imposed. Any person found doing encroachment from Saturday will be fined Rs 1000 for the first time.
For the second time, if the same person is found doing encroachment again, then a fine of Rs 2500 will be charged from him. If the same person is found doing encroachment for the third time, then along with imposing a fine of Rs 5000 from that person, all his belongings will also be confiscated.
