The woman, who was returning home on Activa with her daughter taking sugar medicine, was hit by a tractor-trolley on Wednesday evening. After the incident, the woman was immediately brought to the Cantt Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. The daughter got minor injuries in the accident. After the incident, the accused tractor-trolley driver fled from the spot, but the police have identified him.
Surendra Kaur, 48, a resident of Anand Nagar Boh, was returning home in the evening on Activa along with 25-year-old Karmjeet Kaur. Activa was driving Karmajit. It is said that as soon as the mother-daughter reached near the sewerage treatment plant in Babyal, the tractor-trolley driver coming from behind hit the Activa.
Surendra Kaur fell down and the tractor trolley overtook her. Karmjeet also fell from the Activa which suffered minor injuries. After the incident, the people present on the spot took the woman to the civil hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
