Sampark Kranti gets halt: Duronto’s empty running review begins, may soon get halt in Surat

Kochuveli-Chandigarh Sampark Kranti Express got halt at Surat station from Thursday. Now there is a demand for halts of 9 Duronto trains. Senior railway officials said that the review of the empty running of Duronto trains has started. In this, we are seeing how giving a halt in Surat can increase their occupancy. Duronto trains originating from Mumbai are not running with 100% occupancy in each of their trip.

This is causing damage. At present, after the review is done, the report will be sent to the Railway Board. After that the decision on halt will be taken. Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh has said that this year Duronto trains will also be halted in Surat.
