East Singhbhum district administration received 6400 doses of co-vaccine on Friday. This vaccine will be used on Saturday to give a second dose to 2500 persons in the age group of 18-44 and 1000 persons above the age of 45. The second dose of the co-vaccine will be given on the basis of online slot booking at three locations in the city for the age group of 18-44, while for those 45+ on the basis of walk-in at four locations in the city. The second dose will be given to 2960 persons of both the age groups at 18 centers in rural areas.

At present, it is possible to get the first dose of vaccine in the district only after July 15. Rajeev Ranjan, the District Supply Officer cum District Vaccination Nodal Officer, said that the dose of Kovishield is expected to be received after July 15. But that vaccine will also be used to give maximum number of other doses. By July 15, the second dose of about 50 thousand people of the district will be expired.
