Virbhadra Singh was born in 1934 in Sonitpur, presently known as Sarahan.

After the death of Raja Padmadev in the year 1947, Virbhadra Singh was made the king of Bushahr princely state. Then he was only 13 years old.
At the age of 20, he had his first marriage with Ratan Kumari, the princess of Jubbal. Who remained in bed for 24 years due to illness and one day said goodbye to the world.
He married Pratibha Singh in 1985 at the age of 51. Pratibha Singh has also been an MP from Mandi. Vikramaditya Singh, son of Virbhadra and Pratibha, is currently the MLA from Shimla Rural.
Virbhadra Singh holds the record of becoming Chief Minister for the maximum number of times in Himachal. In Indira Gandhi’s government, Virbhadra Singh was the Union Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation from December 1976 to 1977.
Virbhadra Singh has been an MLA for 9 times and MP for 5 times. For the second time also, he was the Union Minister of State for Industry from 1982 to 1983 in the Indira Government itself.
