SI Sanjay Singh brutally thrashed Gangadhar Pal (62) in a panchayat convened at Shikaripada police station on Saturday to resolve the land dispute. He beat them with kicks and punches. When the condition worsened, the police sent him to the Community Health Center. As soon as the information was received, SP Amber Lakra has suspended the SI.
Gangadhar Pal of Jamkandar village was having a land dispute with his nephew Dulal Pal. Dulal had complained to the police station. On July 7, the SI called Gangadhar’s son Anoop Pal to the police station and interrogated him. It is alleged that he was also beaten up. On Saturday, the SI called both the parties to the police station. About 36 people attended the panchayat under the leadership of Pradhan Sagar Pal. According to eyewitnesses, during the conversation, when there was heat in both the sides, the SI gave up his temper. Gangadhar started beating with kicks and punches.
