Social organizations The Last Bencher and Omkar Charitable Foundation celebrated National Doctors Day on Tuesday. On this occasion, doctors who gave commendable services without caring for their lives during the Corona period were honored. Former mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Asha Jaswal was present in the program as the chief guest. In the felicitation ceremony, Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGI Chandigarh, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Kang, Director, Sector 16, GMSH and Professor Jaswinder Kaur, Director, GMCH-32 were honored.
Dr. Rajiv Kapila, Nodal Officer of National AYUSH Mission was also felicitated. About 15 doctors, who specially served the corona patients who took health benefits at the Mini Kovid Care Center, were also honored. These include Dr. Abhishek Kapila, Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dr. Baldev Sharma, Dr. DS Chauhan, Dr. Akanksha Sharma, Dr. Gaurav Gairola, Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Dr. Tamanna Sindhu, Dr. Amroj Singh, Dr. Navroop Kaur, Dr. Tanya Sharma, Dr. Suninder Kaur and Dr. Gaurav Sharma was present.
Rohinna Khullar, Tejbir Singh, operators of Sector 8 Mini Kovid Care Center and Tanu Mehtani, operator of Sector 47 Mini Kovid Care Center and Arvind Mehn, operator of Sector 27 Kovid Care Center, were also honored. On this occasion, Ravinder Singh Billa, Chairman of Omkar Charitable Foundation and Sumita Kohli, President of The Last Bencher said that in the year 2020 and 2021, the way the Corona epidemic wreaked havoc with the first and second wave, the doctors of the city were doing their duty. He served the Corona patients day and night without caring about his life. We are all grateful to him for this and that is why he has been given special respect.
