  • The State Has The Highest Rainfall Of 464 Mm. In Gujarat, Surat Ranks Second Among 6 Districts

The state has received below average rainfall so far this year. However, South Gujarat received maximum rainfall of 464 mm i.e. 31.75% on an average. This is 6% higher than the average. The state has received an average of 216.61 mm or 25.79 per cent rainfall so far this year. Talking about Surat district, so far 532 mm i.e. 37.01 percent rain has been received here. On the other hand, if we talk about Surat city, so far 673 mm of rain has been received.

According to the data of the State Government’s Disaster Management Authority, South Gujarat ranks first in the state in terms of rainfall. Surat district ranks second among its 6 districts. Navsari received the highest rainfall at 37.93 percent. A week ago the rain had stopped. This worried the farmers.

The farmers had also demanded the irrigation department to continue the water supply, but it rained heavily from the second day itself. Last year, Saurashtra region received the highest rainfall of 329 mm till July 23. Talking about the districts, Kutch had received the maximum rainfall of 87 per cent till July 23, while Surat district had received only 23.84 per cent.

Lowest rainfall in North Gujarat
This time, North Gujarat has received the least rainfall across the state in monsoon. So far 138 mm or 19.28 percent of the rain has been received here. In terms of the least amount of rain, the East Central region is at number two. It has received 177 mm of rain, 21.90 per cent. According to the meteorologist, this time initially the monsoon drop (rain system) remained towards the Himalayas. It took more than two weeks for it to come down. On the other hand, South Gujarat has benefited from the system made in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

600 cusecs of water released from Ukai Dam
Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, water is being released continuously from 43 gates of Hathnoor Dam. Due to this, the water level of Ukai Dam reached 317.55 feet till 7 pm on Saturday, the water inflow into Ukai stood at 13169 cusecs, while 600 cusecs of water was released. The Tapi river has also been inundated with rain and water released from Ukai. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Saturday was 32.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 27.6 degrees Celsius. The humidity in the atmosphere was 79%. The wind blew at a speed of 12 km/h.
